Selecting an Agent
The Agent Selection page allows you to configure conditions to select PATROL Agents based on the following properties, and the policy is applied on the selected agents.

| Agent Host Name | Host name of the computer on which the PATROL Agent is installed. The Agent Host Name matches property uses a regular expression and is case sensitive. | 
| Agent Port | Port number through which the PATROL Agent listens for incoming connections from the PATROL Console. You can use port numbers only from 1025 to 65535. | 
| Agent Version | Version of the PATROL Agent. | 
| Agent Operating System | Operating system of the computer on which the PATROL Agent is installed. | 
| Agent IP Address | IP address of the computer on which the PATROL Agent is installed. If you select the Agent IP Address in the range condition, only IPv4 range is supported. | 
| Agent Tag | Tag applied on the PATROL Agent. For more information about Agent tag, see Adding Agent Tag. | 
| ProactiveNet Integration Service | Display name of the ProactiveNet Integration Service. | 
| ProactiveNet Server | Host name of the ProactiveNet Server that is registered with Central Monitoring Administration. | 
You can set multiple conditions and also group the conditions to identify the agents.
To select an agent or multiple agents
- On the Agent Selection page, select a property.
- Select an operator to create the condition. The available operators depend on the property that you select.
- Type a search entry to select the PATROL Agents.
- (Optional) To add more than one condition, click the  button, and perform step 1 and step 3. button, and perform step 1 and step 3.
 A new condition is added to the page.
- (Optional) To group the conditions, use the following parentheses and Boolean operators from their corresponding lists:- (

- AND
- OR
 
- (Optional) To remove any existing condition, click the  button. button.
- Click Next to add configurations to the policy.
Adding Agent Tag
Each policy is assigned a ProactiveNet Central Monitoring Administration tag and each PATROL Agent can have one or more tags assigned to it. When you assign a tag to a PATROL Agent, the associated policy is applied to the PATROL Agent. You can assign the tag value of a policy to a PATROL Agent as part of the component installation process—You can add a PATROL Agent and set the tag as part of the configuration process that you perform from Central Monitoring Administration.
