Systems requirements


Before installing the product, verify that the target computers meet the requirements listed in the following table. This section provides release-specific information about requirements and supported resources for the PATROL for IBM MQ Series.

Support for third-party products

To receive full support for a BMC product, you must have that product installed in a supported environment, as specified in the BMC product documentation. If a third-party vendor cancels support for one of its products (such as an operating system or subsystem), and that third-party product integrates or interacts with the BMC product you have licensed, you must upgrade to a supported version of that third-party product before BMC Customer Support can provide you with support for the affected BMC product. Remote monitoring is available for all the mentioned operating systems, excluding IBM® AIX®, which does not support remote monitoring to other operating systems.

Minimum hardware requirements

2 virtual CPU (vCPU), 4 GB RAM, x64 architecture

Java Runtime Environment (JRE)

Supports any of the following Java versions:

  • Oracle Java 8.x
  • OpenJDK 8.x
  • OpenJDK 17.x
    Important: If IBM MQ is installed at /opt/mqm, add the JVM argument -Djava.library.path=/opt/mqm/java/lib64 to the MQ policy configuration.

BMC Helix Operations Management

The KM is supported in BMC Helix Operations Management.

PATROL Agent

    • PATROL Installation Utility version: 20.02 and above
  • For TrueSight Operations Management:
    • PATROL Agent version: 11.3 and above
