Prerequisites for monitoring

Before configuring monitoring, perform the following:

Ensure that the monitoring user is part of the mqm group or give monitoring user the read-only access to IBM MQ environment.

For remote monitoring:

  • Ensure that the status of the listener is running and the listener port, for example, 1414, is available.
  • Ensure that the the server connection channel name is mentioned for communication. For example, SYSTEM.DEF.SVRCONN.
  • Ensure that the channel has required authentication for the user provided in the MQ monitoring policy.

For local monitoring:

To perform local queue manager discovery, ensure that "/bin/bash" is accessible. If your bash shell is located elsewhere, create a symbolic link at "/bin/bash" directing to that location.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
