Selecting a Mail Client
You can use any e-mail client that has a command-line interface such as Unix mailx or Blat (shareware) for Windows. For Windows, the PATROL KM for Event Management provides MAPI and SMTP Visual Basic (VB) scripts that are called from the notification script.
Since the notification severs are Unix computers, the recommended approach is to use the default notification script, which sends mail using the built-in Unix mail client, mailx. If the notification servers were Windows computers, you would need to edit the notification script to enable the appropriate mail client. For Unix servers, no editing is required. For more information, see Using-Notification-Scripts.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
