Support for third-party products

To receive full support for a BMC product, you must have that product installed in a supported environment, as specified in the BMC product documentation. If a third-party vendor cancels support for one of its products (such as an operating system or subsystem), and that third-party product integrates or interacts with the BMC product you have licensed, you must upgrade to a supported version of that third-party product before BMC Customer Support can provide you with support for the affected BMC product. For further information, see BMC's product support policy.

 Before installing the PATROL KM for Event Management, verify:

The target computer meets the system requirements noted in the following table, including supported OS platforms and PATROL product versions and the account that you use to install the product has sufficient privileges.

Note

The Event Management KM uses data from other KMs for managing events. This is done when multiple KMs run on the same PATROL Agent, Event Management being one of the KMs.

In order to tell that this KM can be used on a certain platform, ensure that all the required (data and event generating KMs) KMs can be installed on the same platform. Note: When using a setup of both Notification Server and the remote agent(s), the PATROL Agents across the systems must be the same. For example, all PATROL Agents installed on both Notification Server and Remote Agents must be of version 10.0.00.

This product must be installed with the latest version of the PATROL Installation Utility, unless there is a conflict resulting from specific details of the KM. For more information about PATROL Installation Utility, see PATROL Installation Utility online documentation

Note

BMC products are certified for use on supported operating system versions. BMC does not explicitly test for OS patches/updates that are released after a BMC product is released.

BMC products should work fine with minor updates to these supported operating systems. For assistance, please contact BMC Customer Support.
