SET BLACKOUT TIMES dialog box

Use the SET BLACKOUT TIMES dialog box to prevent notification from occurring during specified periods even if an alert occurs. You can configure blackout periods for any PATROL object, at the application, application instance, or parameter level.

Where to define blackouts

You can define blackout periods in two locations:

  • Locally - When you define a blackout period locally on a managed system, alerts are not forwarded to the remote notification server.
  • On the Notification Server - When you define a blackout period on the notification server, alerts are forwarded from the monitored agents to the notification server, but the server does not perform notification.

You can also create multiple blackout periods for the same day.
Blackout settings are stored in the agent configuration variable /AS/EVENTSPRING/AVAILABILITY/Blackouts/<host_port>.
