User goals and features


PATROL for Elasticsearch enables you to monitor the performance metrics of the configured Elasticsearch host. The KM monitors the performance metrics of the Elasticsearch Cluster, Nodes, JVM, Indices, and Shards. It also provides filtering and failover functionality to assure high availability of performance metrics.

New users

Novice users who have to use the product and require a detailed understanding the product.

Technology Specialist

Administrators are responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining the PATROL for Elasctisearch KM implementation.

Some of the tasks executed by an Administrator are:

  • Install the product
  • Create users or configure the KM, create and assign roles and access groups to users
  • Ensure that the PATROL for Elasctisearch environment remains healthy over time, and uses the self-monitoring capabilities provided by the KM

End User

End Users of PATROL for Elasctisearch can represent a variety of different roles, such as IT Operations user and Solution Administrator. Some of the tasks that can be performed by an End User are:

  • Configure the Elasticsearch KM
  • Create alerts to monitor performance of the configured Elasticsearch host
  • Execute Agent actions

Support

Support of the PATROL for Elasctisearch are (internal or external) resources that can seek troubleshooting information about monitoring the KM.
