Configuring Docker through PATROL Console
This topic contains information about adding, modifying, and removing a Docker host for monitoring using the PATROL console.
To add a Docker host
Perform the following steps to add a Docker host for monitoring.
- In the PATROL Main Map tree, right-click the Docker node and select KM Commands > Configure Docker Host.
- In the Configure Docker Host dialog box, in the Docker Host Name text box, enter the host name or the IP address of the Docker host which you want to monitor. The IP address must be entered in square brackets.
- In the Port text box, enter the port number for the Docker host.
- In Protocol, select the protocol that will be used for connection. By default, HTTP protocol is used for connection or you can select HTTPS protocol for connection.
- In Client Certificate File Path (.pfx) text box, enter the path (along with the file name and .pfx extension) where the certificate file is located. The client certificate file must reside on the host where the PATROL agent is running. BMC PATROL default account must have read permission on the directory where the client certificate file is located.
- In Client Certificate Password text box, enter the password for the certificate file. The password must be entered as, DKR;DKR_HOST/<password>
- In the Container Name Filter text box, enter one of the following to Include or Exclude containers from monitoring:
- A pipe-separated (|-separated) list of containers that you want to include or exclude from monitoring
- A regular expression to filter containers that you want to include or exclude from monitoring
- Select Add.
- To save the configuration, click Apply.
The Docker host appears in the Configured Hosts list.
To remove a configured Docker host
Perform the following steps to remove a configured Docker host from monitoring on the PATROL Console.
- Right-click the Docker node and select Knowledge Module (KM) Commands > Configure Docker Host.
- In the Configure Docker Host dialog box, from the Configured Hosts list, select the appropriate Docker host to be removed.
- Select Remove.
- Click Apply.
