Resyncing a blocked channel

Use this task to remove a blocked channel from communication with DB2 and replace it with a new channel.

  1. Right-click on a DB2 DBM instance icon and select Debug > Resync Blocked Channel.
  2. In the Resync Blocked Channel window, select the channel or channels that you want to resync from the list of channels provided.
  3. Click OK.

If a problem occurs

If the channel immediately becomes blocked again, you might need to stop the DB2 DBM instance associated with the channel and restart it.

If you are unable to resync a blocked channel, you might need to "kill" the agent and update the connection. To kill the agent, right-click on the icon representing the computer host in the console window and select Development > Kill Agent from the menu. To update the connection, select Break Connection in the menu, and then reopen the menu and select Update Connection.

In DB2 UDB EEE only, if you are unable to resync a blocked channel, you might need to reinitialize the PATROL KM environment. To do this, first stop all db2km_server.eee processes (see Stopping the db2km_server.eee processes (DB2 UDB EEE only)). Then, kill and restarting the PATROL Agent and update the connection.
