Getting help on DB2 diagnostic messages


Use this task to access detailed message help information based on the SQLCODE, SQLSTATE, or class-code value that was returned from a previously executed DB2 command.

  1. Right-click on a DB2 DBM instance icon and select Debug > Diagnostic Message Help.
  2. In the Diagnostic Message Help window, type the corresponding SQLCODE, SQLSTATE, or class code for the error in question.
  3. Click OK to view the error message, a detailed description, and suggested recovery actions for the requested problem.
  4. After viewing the message window, click OK.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
