Debugging

PATROL for DB2 UDB provides a Debug command accessible from the application class menus. By default, debugging is turned off at startup.

When you turn on debug switches, you can get output related to many of the KM application classes. PATROL for DB2 UDB displays this output in the PATROL system output window so that you can relay the information to BMC Software Customer Support.

To turn on, update, or view debugging for a monitored DB2 object, right-click the DB2 object and select Debug Switches from the menu.

From the SETUP Debug menu, you can activate debugging for application discovery, channel access attempts, and SETUP commands. For all other application class objects, you can set debugging for commands, parameters, or both.

The following debug tasks are also available for a DB2 DBM instance: Resyncing the db2km_server.eee processes (DB2 UDB EEE only)

Note

The DB2 instance debug commands are useful for resolving channel failures and other related system or socket errors in the console.
