Advanced performance monitoring for a database

The Advanced Performance Monitor utility enables you to measure the performance of a database by gathering detailed timing information about specific SQL statements running in the database.

When you configure and start advanced performance monitoring, the advanced performance monitoring parameters are activated and the timing statistics collected for each parameter are displayed in the Performance icon window. These values are collected by the CollPerformance collector. The advanced performance parameters are

  • ElapsedTime
  • AveElapsedTime
  • ResponseExecTime

The commands that you use in advanced performance monitoring are discussed in Configuring-advanced-performance-monitoring-for-a-database.

Note

Advanced Performance Monitoring parameter icons appear dimmed in the Performance parameter container until activated. You must configure advanced performance monitoring before the icon becomes activated. The Advanced Performance Monitor utility is not available for remote databases. To use the Advanced Performance Monitor, the configuration menu command default account must have the appropriate privileges to execute the SQL statements. See Setting up default account s for EE and EEE for details.
