DB2EEE Database Administration menu


To access the Database Administration menu for the DB2EEE application class, right-click on a Database Manager (DBM) instance icon. The following submenus and commands are included in this Database Administration menu:

  • Database Modes menu
  • Applications Mgmt menu
  • Directory Mgmt menu
  • Database submenu
  • Node submenu
  • Database Mgmt menu
  • Configuration Mgmt menu 

Database Modes menu

Menu command

Description

Start Database Manager

starts a DB2 Database Manager (DBM) instance on all nodes defined in the db2nodes.cfg file or on the node you select

Stop Database Manager

stops the database manager for a DB2 instance or a single node

Applications Mgmt menu

Menu command

Description

List Applications

displays a list of all the applications currently associated with a DB2 Database Manager (DBM) instance, a single node, or a specific database

Force Applications

forces offline (disconnects) all applications in a DB2 DBM instance, a database, or a particular DB2 agent

Set Runtime Degree

sets the maximum degree of parallelism for SQL statements for the specified active applications in the DB2 instance

Directory Mgmt menu

Database submenu

Menu command

Description

List DB Directory

displays the contents of the system database directory for a DB2 Database Manager (DBM) instance

List DCS

displays the contents of the DCS directory for a DB2 DBM instance

Catalog

catalogs a database (local or remote) into the system database directory

Catalog DCS

catalogs a DCS database by storing information about a remote database in the DCS directory

Catalog Global Database

catalogs a global database

Uncatalog Database

deletes the specified database from the system database directory

Uncatalog DCS Database

deletes the entry for the specified database from the DCS database directory

Node submenu

Menu command

Description

List Node Directory

displays the node directory entries associated with a DB2 DBM instance

Catalog Local Node

catalogs a local node

Catalog TCP/IP Node

adds a Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) node to the node directory

Catalog APPC Node

adds an APPC node to the node directory

Uncatalog Node

uncatalogs a node from the node directory

Database Mgmt menu

Menu command

Description

Create Database

initializes a new database in a partitioned environment, creates three initial tablespaces and the system tables in the specified directory, allocates the recovery log, and catalogs the new database in the system database directory

Drop Database

removes the contents of the database and all log files for the database

Rollforward Database

recovers a database by applying transactions that have been recorded in the database log files

Configuration Mgmt menu

Menu command

Description

Show DBM Configuration

displays the configuration settings for a DB2 Database Manager (DBM) instance

Update DBM Configuration

updates and saves changes to the configuration file of a DB2 DBM instance

Reset DBM Configuration

replaces the existing configuration file with the default configuration file for a DB2 DBM instance
