Managing remote databases


In PATROL for DB2 UDB you can select to discover remote databases, disable remote database discovery, or selectively disable discovery of a remote database through node filtering. You can set these options at any time from the DB2 instance menu by using this procedure.

You can also enable remote database discovery from the SETUP menu. For more information, see Configuring discovery options.

Before you begin, be sure that you are familiar with Remote database discovery limitations for SYSADMIN, SYSCTRL, SYSMAINT.

To enable or disable remote database discovery

  1. Right-click on the DB2 DBM instance icon and select Remote Database Mgmt.
  2. Select one of the following commands:
    • Enable Remote DB Discovery
    • Disable Remote DB Discovery

To Filter a Node

Note

To filter the discovery of a particular node, remote database discovery must be enabled for the DB2 DBM instance.

  1. Right-click the DB2 instance icon and select Remote Database Mgmt >Filter Nodes.
  2. In the Filter Nodes window, select the nodes to filter and click OK.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
