PATROL for DB2 UDB parameters

 The parameters defined in PATROL for DB2 UDB periodically monitor all aspects of your DB2 server instances and resources. Parameter information is displayed as a graph, gauge, or text box in the PATROL console. Parameter icons that are displayed with a gray platter indicate that the parameter is offline.

A number of the PATROL for DB2 UDB parameters have default alarm thresholds that automatically warn you of potential issues or initiate recovery procedures. Parameter icons with a red or flashing red platter indicate an alarm state. PATROL for DB2 UDB has numerous consumer parameters and a number of standard and collector parameters.

PATROL for DB2 UDB collectors

Collectors are parameters that perform collection and related monitoring activities associated with each application class. The following figure shows the collector parameters as they appear in the COLLECTORS container window in the PATROL console. The COLLECTORS container icon appears at the DB2 instance level.

Collectors appear with a check mark when active, or with an "X" (or blank box with UNIX) when inactive.

The PATROL for DB2 UDB collectors are as follows:

  • CollInstance
  • CollPerformance
  • CollTablespace

Each collector sets the values for the consumer parameters in one or more designated application classes. Refer to the Parameters topic in the online Help for more detailed information about the parameters associated with each collector.

All parameters in PATROL for DB2 UDB are defined as global parameters.
