AvePgReadTime (DB2UDB_BUFFERPOOL)

Indicates the average amount of time required to read a data or index page from the physical disk to the buffer pool. This parameter enables you to determine whether excessive input/output waits are taking place.

The BUFFERPOOL DB2 Monitor Switch must be set ON to make this parameter active and collect data.

To reset this parameter's value, set monitor switch to OFF, and then set monitor switch to ON to begin monitoring this parameter again. This will reset the counters for all the parameters that are being controlled by the monitor switch.

Recommendation

If excessive waits occur you should consider moving the data to a different device.
