Uninstalling PATROL for DB2 UDB


To uninstall PATROL for DB2 UDB, you must use the same version of the installation utility that you used to install your current version of the product. If you use a different version of the installation program to uninstall, you might accidentally remove files needed to uninstall other BMC products. (See Determining how to upgrade.) Run the installation utility in uninstall mode to uninstall PATROL for DB2 UDB from your system.

Use one of the following procedures to:

  • Uninstall PATROL for DB2 UDB from a Windows environment
  • Uninstall PATROL for DB2 UDB from a UNIX environment

Before you can uninstall PATROL products, you must stop any PATROL processes that are running on the computers where you want to uninstall PATROL. For information about stopping processes see

To uninstall PATROL for DB2 UDB from a Windows environment

  1. From the Uninstall directory in your BMC product installation directory and double-click uninstall.exe to launch the installation utility in uninstall mode.

    Note

    As an option, you can launch the installation utility in uninstall mode by choosing Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Program and double-click BMC Software Tools in the Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box.

    The Welcome window is displayed; click Next to begin the uninstall process.

  2. Select the installation directory from which you want to remove a product and click Next.
  3. Select the product or products that you want to uninstall and click Next.
  4. Review your selections and click Uninstall.
     After the uninstallation is complete, a window is displayed that tells you whether the uninstallation was successful.

To uninstall PATROL for DB2 UDB from a UNIX environment

  1. Change to the Uninstall directory in your BMC product installation directory and enter the command ./uninstall.sh to launch the installation utility in uninstall mode.
  2. In the Welcome window, click Next to begin the uninstall process.
  3. Select the installation directory from which you want to remove a product and click Next.
  4. Select the product or products that you want to uninstall and click Next.
  5. Review your selections and click Uninstall. After the uninstallation is complete, a window is displayed that tells you whether the uninstallation was successful.
