Note

For DB2 Universal Database ESE, use the PATROL for DB2 UDB EEE KM file to monitor your multi-partition instances.

Installing in a UNIX system environment

In a UNIX multinode configuration, the following methods are available for installing PATROL for DB2 UDB EEE. Select the method best suited for your environment.

  • Install the PATROL for DB2 UDB component (and the PATROL Agent component if not already installed) on any physical node in the DB2 configuration. Then, export and mount the installation directory ($PATROL_HOME/.. ) to all other nodes in the configuration.
  • Install the PATROL for DB2 UDB agent component on each physical node that is part of the DB2 multinode environment. Ensure that the drive and directory names for the installed component are the same on every node.

Installing in a Windows NT or Windows 2000 system environment

In a Windows NT or Windows 2000 configuration, you must install the PATROL for DB2 UDB agent component on each computer that is part of the DB2 multinode configuration. Ensure that the drive and directory path to which you install is the same on every computer in the cluster.

The PATROL Agent must be installed on one of the nodes that is defined in the db2nodes.cfg file. TCP/IP must be enabled on each computer in the cluster.
