Collection Process
The PATROL for Converged infrastructure uses an external collector (REST client) to collect the necessary data from the UCS Manager.
The collector is an external process launched by the Knowledge Module (KM). The KM uses the standard input and output parameters of the external collector to communicate with the collection trigger and to receive the required data respectively. At every polling interval, the collector fetches the data from Cisco UCS Manager using XML APIs, processes the data and provides the ready-to-be-consumed data to PATROL Agent. The KM consumes and processes the data to create or destroy the instances, and to set the parameter values.
