Using PATROL Configuration Manager for configuration
You can use BMC PATROL Configuration Manager to configure BMC PATROL for Converged Infrastructure Monitoring by using the following methods:
- Menu commands. For information, see Configuring through the PATROL Configuration Manager menu commands.
- RuleSets through the CLI. For information, see Configuring through the PATROL Configuration Manager CLI.
You can also use PATROL Configuration Manager for managing parameters, as described in Managing-parameters-by-using-PATROL-Configuration-Manager.
Before using PATROL Configuration Manager to change the configuration of a Knowledge Module (KM), BMC recommends that you ensure that PATROL Configuration Manager is set up to save or back up the configuration.
To enable backups in PATROL Configuration Manager
- From the main menu, select File > Configure > Application.
- In the Configure: Application dialog box, select the Archives tab to open the Backup Settings.
- Ensure that the Save Backup Before Apply option is selected.
- Click OK to save the settings.
