Upgrading

The topics in this section describe how to upgrade BMC PATROL for Citrix XenServer from the previous version. This section covers the following topics:

Upgrading in a BMC PATROL Environment

  1. Stop the PATROL Central console.
  2. Install or upgrade the KM to version 3.1.00 on the PATROL Agent machine.
  3. Install or upgrade the KM to version 3.1.00 on the Console Server machine.
  4. Stop and start the PATROL Console Server service.
  5. Start the PATROL Central console and connect to the PATROL Agent.

Note

 If the KM was pre-loaded, pre-load the VSM_XEN.kml again after the upgrade.

To upgrade the PATROL for Citrix XenServer KM in the PATROL Classic console environment

  1. Stop the PATROL Classic console.
  2. Backup the PATROL Classic console cache and then delete the cache.
  3. Install or upgrade the KM to version 3.1.00 on the PATROL Agent machine.
  4. Install or upgrade the KM to version 3.1.00 on the PATROL Classic console machine.
  5. Start the PATROL Classic console and connect to the PATROL Agent.

Note

 If the KM was pre-loaded, pre-load the VSM_XEN.kml again after the upgrade.

Upgrading in a BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management environment

While deploying a new version of PATROL for Citrix XenServer (KM) in a BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management environment, there are no specific steps to upgrade. You can deploy the KM as discussed in Installing-in-a-BMC-ProactiveNet-Performance-Management-environment.
