Working with error messages
BMC PATROL for Cisco Nexus Switch includes a number of error messages that enable you to troubleshoot and pinpoint the likely cause of a problem.
Configuration error messages
The following messages are displayed if there problems with the configuration.

PCZ0017E | Switch name is missing | You have not entered a switch name. |
PCZ0018E | Username is missing | You have not entered a user name. |
PCZ0030E | General configuration error <text defining probable cause> | General configuration error, additional text describes the probable cause of the error. |
PCZ0019E | Password field is empty, enter a non-blanc password | You have not entered a password. |
PCZ0031E | Error in JAVA_HOME <text defining probable cause> | You have not correctly set the Java home. |
PCZ0033E | Configured (PCONFIG) JAVA_HOME path is not found | You have entered an incorrect path to the Java home. |
PCZ0034E | Configured (PCONFIG) JAVA_HOME refers to a JRE of unsupported version | You have entered a JRE less than version 1.6 or above. |
PCZ0035I | New JRE configured (PCONFIG) | Notice informing that you have correctly configured the JRE. |
PCZ0037E | Invalid port | The configured port number is invalid. |
PCZ0042W | Failed to configure the switch: <switch name> | The agent cannot make a connection to the switch |
PCZ0043W | Failed to configure the following switches: <switch name1 > <switchname 2> <switch name n> | The agent cannot make a connection to the more than one switch. |
PCZ0044I | JAVA_HOME is currently undefined (PCONFIG).The solution requires this variable to be defined before monitoring commence. | JAVA_HOME is not defined either in the system environment or the Pconfig. |
PCZ0054E | Java home path can't be empty. | You have not defined the path to the Java home in the User Interface |
PCZ0055E | Configured Java home path does not exist, please validate existing Java home path and specify correct one. | You have incorrectly defined the Java home in the User Interface |
Java error messages
These messages are displayed when the product encounters difficulties with the Java collection.

PCZ9994E | xmlagent not found | No XML Agent found on the host server, verify that you can start the XML Agent on the target device. |
PCZ9993E | Host not found | Host server not found, verify configuration. |
PCZ9992E | Connection refused | SSH Connection to target device refused, verify the port configuration. |
PCZ9991E | Permission denied | You do not have the required user privileges, see your system administrator. |
PCZ9990E | Failed to connect | Failed to connect to the target device. |
PCZ9989E | XML session exceeded max allowed | Number of XML sessions exceeded the number allowed by the target device. |
PCZ9988E | Failed to load XML session | XML session failed to load, check the target device. |
PCZ9987E | Error occurred during XML session loading, Message:<Description> | XML session failed to load. The message contains a description of the probable cause. |
