Selecting components

You can include all or select specific components for monitoring. The following components are available:

  • Health
  • Management
  • Control
  • Ethernet
  • Port Channel
  • Port Profile

Each component contains a set of parameters, after you have added the component, the parameters are displayed under the switch instance.

To select components for monitoring

  1. From the PATROL Console work area, right-click Cisco Nexus Switches.
  2. Select KM Commands > Administration > Filters > Components Monitoring.
    The Select Components dialog box is displayed.

  3. From Select Components, select from the list of available components (those that are not monitored), select one or more components to be added to the monitored components.
  4. Select the directional arrow
    • --> to add a component to be monitored
    • <-- to remove monitoring from components
  5. Click Ok to move the components according to the arrow.

  6. Click Okto save the change and close the dialog box.

    Note

    The collector enacts changes made to the monitored components only in the next collection cycle.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
