1.2.00.01: Fix Pack 1


The PATROL for Cisco Nexus 1.2.00.01 fix pack corrects issues reported in earlier versions of PATROL for Cisco Nexus. For more information about the issues, see Known-and-corrected-issues.

This topic provides instructions for downloading and installing this patch:

To download the installation files

Select and download the installation files for your platform; see the following table. Use your BMC Support credentials to access the EPD website. You might also be prompted to complete the Export Compliance Form.The [confluence_table-plus] macro is a standalone macro and it cannot be used inline. Click on this message for details.

Installing the patch 

Before you begin

You must install the patch on the following computers:

  • Hosts that are running the PATROL Agent
  • Hosts that are running the PATROL Console

Before you install the patch, complete the following steps:

  1. Stop the PATROL Agent.
  2. Back up the PATROL_CACHE directory.
  3. Delete all PATROL for Cisco Nexus switch files from the PATROL_CACHE directory.
  4. Back up the PATROL_HOME/lib/knowledge and PATROL_HOME/lib/psl directories.

To install the PATROL for Cisco Nexus 1.2.00.01 patch

After you have downloaded the installation utility and patch files, perform the following steps to install the patch:

  1. Extract the installation utility:
    • (Windows) Double-click ins_WINDOWS_10700.zip
    • (UNIX) tar -xvf ins_ALL_10700.tar

      The contents of the files are extracted into the bmc_products sub-directory.
       
  2. Extract the patch file:
    • (Windows) Double-click pcz_ALL_120001.zip
    • (UNIX) Enter tar -xvf pcz_ALL_120001.tar

      The contents of the files are extracted into the bmc_products sub-directory. 
       
  3. From the bmc_products directory, run the installation utility as appropriate for your operating system:
    • (Windows) Double-click setup.exe
    • (UNIX) Run setup.sh
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions until the Select Products and Components to Install page is displayed. 
  5. On the Select Products and Components to Install page, select PATROL for Cisco Nexus switch - Patch 1.2.00.01.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

    After you complete the installation steps, you can delete the temporary directory and its contents.
