Accessing the pconfig utility


You edit the Pconfig as follows:

  • Windows: use the Wpconfig utility.
  • UNIX: use Xpconfig.
Warning

Note

You cannot enter or modify a password using the wpconfig or xpconfig utility. To change the password, use the interface commands or PATROL Configuration Manager.

Accessing Wpconfig

To access the wpconfig utility

  1. Open Run, enter wpconfig.
  2. Click Ok.
  3. From Tools, select Get Configuration.
  4. In the Get Configuration dialog box, enter the host name of the computer where the Java agent is installed.
  5. The agent configuration is called and displayed.
  6. Open the three letter product folder, make changes to the parameters.
  7. From Tools, select Apply Configuration.

Accessing Xpconfig

  1. Enter $patrol_home/bin.
  2. In the access screen, click Host, enter the host name.
  3. Select the required protocol (TCP or UDP) for communication.
  4. Click Get Configuration.
  5. Make changes to the parameters.
  6. Click Apply Configuration.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
