Integrating

The PATROL for BMC ProactiveNet Self Monitoring product fully integrates with BMC ProactiveNet. All its applications classes and parameters are displayed in BMC ProactiveNet.

You can use the PATROL adapter to integrate Knowledge Modules (KMs) with BMC ProactiveNet. PATROL Agents load information from KMs, gather statistics, and send data and events to the BMC ProactiveNet Agent. The BMC ProactiveNet Agent then generates events whenever it senses a problem evolving in the monitored infrastructure. The PATROL adapter facilitates the retrieval of performance data from the application classes of BMC PATROL solutions into BMC ProactiveNet.

You can add an adapter for BMC PATROL by using either of the following methods:

  • Automated workflow (recommended)
  • Manually

Note

Although you have the capability to monitor the parameters available in this product by using the BMC ProactiveNet Console, BMC does not recommend that you do so. BMC recommends that you use the PATROL Console for all monitoring purposes.
