Architecture

This product Knowledge Module (KM) mainly uses the PSL mechanism for collecting performance data for the application classes and the related parameters. But for the BPPM_MTM_CONNECTION_PROFILE application class parameters, an external process, pproxycli.exe is used as the data collection mechanism.

The following major steps are involved in the collection of performance data:

  1. The PATROL Agent initiates the request to collect the data. The collection request initiated by the PATROL Agent is in a predefined format. The KM starts an external process called pproxycli.exe for data collection.
  2. The pproxycli.exe process collects necessary data for the BPPM_MTM_CONNECTION_PROFILE application class parameters. For the rest of the parameters, the PSL mechanism is used as the data collection mechanism.
  3. These processes send data back to the PATROL Agent in an appropriate format.
  4. The PATROL Agent reads the data and takes necessary action on the data.
The necessary action taken by the product KM and the PATROL Agent can involve creating a required instance or setting the appropriate parameters.
