Registering an Apache Tomcat environment in PATROL
To register an Apache Tomcat environment
- Choose Apache Tomcat > KM Commands > Register...
The Register Apache Tomcat Environment dialog box is displayed, as shown in the following figure:

Enter the following environment details.

Connection Details | |
Host/IP | Enter the host name or the IP address of a local or remote host. The IP addresses can be in the IPv4 or IPv6 format. Note: An example of an IPv6 address is [2001:db8:28:3:f98a:5b31:67b7:67ef]. |
Port | Enter the JVM monitor port number. |
User Name | (Optional) Enter a valid Apache Tomcat account user name. |
Password | Enter the password for the Apache Tomcat account account. The password is required only if you entered a Apache Tomcat user name. Note: To determine whether you need to specify username and password, log into the JConsole and open the VM Summary tab. In the connection name: field, you can see if a user has been entered or not. The JConsole binary comes with the JDK installation and resides in the Tomcat bin directory. |
Certificate Details | |
TrustStore File Name | Enter the TrustStore file name for one-way SSL and two-way SSL connections. |
TrustStore Password | Enter the TrustStore password for one-way SSL and two-way SSL connections. |
KeyStore File Name | Enter the KeyStore file name for two-way SSL connections. |
Keystore Password | Enter the KeyStore password for two-way SSL connections. |
Monitoring Options | Select one or more of the following options:

(Optional) You can also enter the the PATROL defined ID in the box.
Click OK to add this to the environment configurations list. This environment is displayed as an object in the Generic JVM hierarchy.
Click Cancel to exit without saving any changes.
You can continue to add more environments for monitoring.
