Defining Java Virtual Machine arguments


Starting with the PATROL for Apache Tomcat KM and Generic Server KM versions 3.1, you can use a single Java virtual machine (JVM) for all of the environments that you plan to monitor.

Before you begin

You must have installed and loaded PATROL for Apache Tomcat KM and Generic Server KM versions 3.1.

The operating system user account must have read and execute permissions for the Java Home directory, and full access to the following directories:

  • Apache Tomcat KM: ../Patrol3/TCT
  • Generic Server KM: ../Patrol3/GJS

To define a JVM argument

To define the JVM arguments for the respective KM, select the respective KM and then KM Commands > KM Administration > Define JVM Arugments.

Define additional JVM Arguments

Enter the Java home details as follows:

Java home details

Java home

Enter the path to the local Java home directory.

Note: If Java home is not specified, by default, the Java home for the PATROL Agent is used.

Local admin OS account

Enter the local administration OS account user name.

Local admin OS password

Enter the local administration OS account password.

JVM Arguments

Enter the optional Java Virtual Machine arguments for the Java collector.
