Downloading the installation files

This topic explains how to obtain the installation and other files that you need to install PATROL for Amazon Web Services.

Downloading the installation utility and the product files

This section provides information for downloading PATROL for Amazon Web Services 2.0.00 from the Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) website. 

To download the latest version of the installation utility and the product files perform the following steps.

1. Create a directory for the downloaded files.
2. Go to http://www.bmc.com/available/epd.html.
3. At the logonprompt, enter your user ID and password, and click Submit.
4. On the Export Compliance and Access Terms page, provide the required information, agree to the terms of the agreements, and click Continue.
5. If you are accessing this site for the first time, create an EPD profile to specify the languages and platforms that you want to see, per the EPD site help; otherwise, skip to step 6.
6. Verify that the correct profile is displayed for your download purpose.
7. You can download the installation utility and the product patch using either of the following methods:
   • Using Component View
   • Using License Products View

Using Component View

1. In the Filter Products field, type BMC PATROL Installation Utility.
2. Click Go.

3. In the right pane, click BMC PATROL Installation Utility.

   Note

   You can use BMC PATROL Installation Utility 10.5.00 or later.

4. In the Version: list, select 10.5.00, and click Go.

5. In the Products tab, based on the operating system, select thecheck box next to the files.

6. To download the selected files, click Download (FTP) or Download Manager.
   • Download (FTP) places the selected items in an FTP directory, and the credentials and FTP instructions are sent to you in an email message.
   • Download Manager enables you to download multiple files consecutively and to resume an interrupted download.
     This method requires a one-time installation of the Akamai NetSession client program on the target computer and is usually the faster and more reliable way to transfer files. A checksum operation is used to verify file integrity automatically.
7. Click <<Back to Product List.
8. In the Filter Products field, type PATROL for Amazon Web Services.
9. Click Go.
10. In the right pane, click PATROL for Amazon Web Services.
11. In the Version list, select 2.0.00, and click Go.

12. In the Product tab, based on the operating system, select the check box next to the files.

13. To download the selected files, click Download (FTP) or Download Manager.

14. Complete the installation procedure as described in the Installing section.

Using Licensed Products View

1. Click Go To Licensed Products View.
2. Locate BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Suite and expand its entries to show the available version numbers.
3. Locate BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Suite 10.5.00, locate and expand BMC Server Monitoring and Analytics Version 10.5.00.

4. Expand BMC PATROL Installation Utility 10.5.00 to show the available files. 

   Note

   You can use BMC PATROL Installation Utility 10.5.00 or later.

5. Select the check boxnext to the files, based on the appropriate platforms.

6. To download the selected files, click Download (FTP) or Download Manager:

7. Expand BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Suite and expand its entries to show the available version numbers.
8. Expand BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Suite 10.5.00, locate and expand BMC Server Monitoring and Analytics Version 10.5.00.
9. Expand the PATROL for Amazon Web Services 2.0.00 component to show the available files.

10. Select the check box next to the patches, based on the appropriate platform.
