PATROL for Amazon EC2 provides a detailed view of all system activity over time so that you can detect problems, optimize systems, analyse trends, plan capacity, and manage multiple hosts simultaneously.

Administrator

Administrators are responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining the PATROL for Amazon EC2 KM implementation.

Some of the tasks executed by an Administrator are:

  • Install and upgrade the product
  • Create users or configure the KM, create and assign roles and access groups to users
  • Ensure that the PATROL for Amazon EC2 environment remains healthy over time, and uses the self-monitoring capabilities provided by the KM

End User

End Users of PATROL for Amazon EC2 can represent a variety of different roles, such as IT Operations user, Technology Specialist, and Solution Administrator.

They usually do not execute tasks on PATROL for Amazon EC2, but rather access and consume results of the KM, such as PATROL for Amazon EC2 reports or graphs.

Support

Support of the PATROL for Amazon EC2 KM are (internal or external) resources that can seek troubleshooting information about monitoring the KM.
