Calls to Get File Stats (StatFile)
This parameter displays the percentage of all NFS client calls made to retrieve file attributes or file statistics (since the last sample). Programs that check for the existence of a file tend to increase the value of this parameter.
Recommendations
To reduce network traffic and calls to the server, you can turn on client caching of file attributes. The defaults (Warning in the 75% to 90% range and Alarm in the 90% to 100% range) are reasonable for a typical system. However, knowing the characteristics of your system and its work load will help you determine whether to change the defaults. If you do not want to turn on client caching, you should turn off the range thresholds.
