AIX KM menu commands


AIX Hosts application menu

The following menu commands are available in the AIX Hosts application class. To access this menu, right-click the AIX Hosts node and select KM Commands.

Manage List of Monitored Hosts

Displays the Manage-List-of-Monitored-Hosts-dialog-boxes.

Allows you to perform the following actions:

  • Add a remote host to the environment for monitoring (see, Add-Host-dialog-box)
  • Modify the details of a remote host such as the assigned profile, and public and private key paths, after you add the host (see Modify-Host-instanceName-dialog-box)
  • Remove a remote host from the environment to stop monitoring of the host

Manage User Profiles

Displays the Manage-Profile-dialog-box.

Allows you to perform the following actions:

  • Create a profile so that hosts can be assigned to the profile
  • Modify the username and password for a profile
  • Delete a profile

AIX OS application menu

The following menu commands are available in the AIX OS application class. To access this menu, right-click the AIX OS node and select KM Commands.

Top N Processes

  • CPU - Lists top 10 hosts by CPU usage.
  • Memory - Lists top 10 hosts by memory usage.

Debug and Diagnostics

Provides access to a diagnostic report and debug controls for various collectors.

Debug and Diagnostics submenu

To access this menu, right-click the AIX OS node and select KM Commands.This submenu allows you to select supplementary diagnostics and enable debug for specific a application class.

Create Diagnostic Report

Displays the Select-Categories-of-Diagnostics-dialog-box.

Allows you to gather supplementary diagnostics such as dump options, installation diagnostics and log files.

Manage Debug

Displays the Manage-Debug-dialog-box.

Allows you to enable debugging for selected application classes.

Kernel application menu

To access this menu, right-click the Kernel node and select KM Commands.

Network application menu

To access this menu, right-click the Network node and select KM Commands. Following table lists the commands on the Network application menu.

TCP/IP

Accesses the TCP/IP menu that allows you to view reports and execute TCP/IP utilities. The output appears in the system output window.

Displays the list of known protocols and protocol numbers.

List Services

Provides a list of available services.

List Trusted Hosts

Lists TCP/IP trusted hosts.

ARP > Show ARP Cache

ARP - Adds and deletes hosts from the Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) table.

Show ARP Cache - Displays the hosts and addresses in the ARP table

List Network Interface

Displays the state of an automatically configured interface in a task window.

List Memory Buffer

Displays memory management statistics in a task window.

List Network Address

Displays all the network addresses in a task window.

List Routing Table

Displays the routing table and statistics for the network in a task window.

Show Protocol Statistics

Displays the statistics for each protocol layer.

Refresh Parameters

Forces an update of the application parameter values.

Memory application menu

To access this menu, right-click the Kernel node and select KM Commands.

List Shared Memory Segments

Displays information about the shared memory segments. The output appears in the system output window.

List Semaphores

Lists information about the active semaphores. Identify a particular semaphore by looking at the owner ID and group ID. The output appears in the system output window.

Refresh Parameters

Forces an update of the application parameter values.

To access this menu, right-click the CPU node and select KM Commands.

Displays all the NFS servers for the system.

To access this menu, right-click the Processes node and select KM Commands.

List Zombie Processes

Displays information about the zombie processes that persist on the system.

Manage List of Monitored Processes

Spawns the Manage-List-of-Monitored-Processes-dialog-box which is used to add, modify, and report on monitored processes in your environment.

Identify Flag Directory

Spawns the Identify-Flag-Directory-dialog-box, which is used to specify a directory where PATROL will look for process presence flag files.

Refresh Parameters

Forces an update of the application parameter values.

Disk application menu

To access this menu, right-click the Disk node and select KM Commands.

Manage Disk Exclusion List

Displays the Manage Disk Exclusion List dialog box. Allows you to exclude or include DISK instances.

Refresh Parameters

Forces an update of the application parameter values.

Filesystems application menu

To access this menu, right-click the Filesystems node and select KM Commands.

Manage Filesystems

Spawns the Manage-Filesystems-dialog-box which is used to include, exclude monitored filesystems in your environment.

Swap application menu

To access this menu, right-click the Filesystems node and select KM Commands.

To access this menu, right-click the Users node and select KM Commands.

List Current Users

Displays a list of users that are currently active on the host.

Process List

Displays all the processes that belong to the specified user.

Refresh Parameters

Forces an update of the application parameter values.

Logical Partition application menu

To access this menu, expand the AIX Virtualization node, right-click the Logical Partitions node and select KM Commands.

Debug and Diagnostics

Allows you to display detailed debugging messages for Logical Partitions.

Virtualization Debug Admin - Displays a dialog box that offers debug option for the Logical Partition.

Get Debug Status - Displays if the debug is ON/OFF for the Logical Partition. The status is displayed on the System Output Window.

Forces an update of the application parameter values.

Workload Partitions application menu

To access this menu, expand the AIX Virtualization node, right-click the Workload Partitions node and select KM Commands.

Top WPARs

CPU - Lists top WPARs by CPU usage.

Debug and Diagnostics

Allows you to display detailed debugging messages for Workload Partitions.

Workload Partitions Debug Admin - Displays a dialog box that offers debug selection option for the Workload Partitions.

IAK XPC Administration - Displays the IAKServer-XPC-Admin-dialog-box.

Get Debug Status - Displays if the debug is ON/OFF for the Workload Partition. The status is displayed on the System Output Window.

HMC application menu

To access this menu, right-click the HMC node and select KM Commands.

Displays the Manage-List-of-Management-Consoles-dialog-box, which allows you to add, modify or delete management consoles.
