Defining a Real User Analyzer and setting up a connection with BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring

Warning

If you are integrating BMC PATROL Knowledge Module for End User Experience Management with BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management, do not perform this configuration task through a PATROL console. Instead, perform the configuration through the BMC ProactiveNet Central Monitoring Administration console. For more information, see the BMC ProactiveNet End User Experience Management Monitoring online documentation.

  1. From the PATROL Console work area, right-click the End User Experience icon.
  2. Choose KM Commands > End User Experience Configuration.
  3. If at least one Real User Analyzer has already been defined, select one of the following actions in the Manage-Real-User-Analyzers-dialog-box:
    • To define a new connection to a Real User Analyzer, select Add and then click Apply.
    • To edit the definitions of a Real User Analyzer, select the Analyzer (identified by host and description) and Edit, and then click Apply.
    • To delete a previously defined Real User Analyzer, select the Analyzer and Delete, and click Apply. Then click OK to confirm the deletion.
  4. In the Add/Edit Real User Analyzer dialog box, enter the required information, as follows:
    • Host: The name or IP address of the virtual machine where the Real User Analyzer resides. You cannot edit this value in a previously defined Analyzer.
    • Port: The number of the port for connecting to the Real User Analyzer
    • User: A user with either Admin or Observer permissions for logging on to the Real User Analyzer
    • Password: Password for the specified user
    • Description: An optional textual description for the Real User Analyzer
  5. Click Next.
  6. Continue with the task of selecting Watchpoints and Geo Locations to monitor.
