Integrating
Integrating with BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring and BMC Atrium CMDB
The integration of BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring with BMC Atrium CMDB enables you to monitor the performance and reliability of your web applications within the context of business services. With this integration, you can do the following:
- Associate the Watchpoints that you have defined for segments of web traffic with activity configuration items (CIs) from BMC Atrium CMDB
- Propagate Watchpoint performance data through the BMC PATROL Knowledge Module for End User Experience Management to BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management
- Raise events from BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management to BMC Atrium CMDB for Watchpoint-associated CIs
- Obtain health information for Watchpoint-associated CIs from BMC Atrium CMDB and display this service-context information through the BMC Application Performance Management Console
The following diagram illustrates how these products participate in the integration and the flow of data to enable monitoring of web applications within a service context.

To support the integration of BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring with BMC Atrium CMDB, ensure that you have set up the following BMC products and minimum product versions:
- BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring 2.5
- BMC PATROL Knowledge Module for End User Experience Management 2.5
- BMC ProactiveNet 8.6 or later
- BMC Atrium CMDB 8.0 or later
For more information about the system requirements of each BMC product, see the available documentation for each product.
To enable the BMC Atrium CMDB integration within BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring, see Setting-up-the-CMDB-integration.
Integrating with BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management
BMC PATROL Knowledge Module for End User Experience Management fully integrates with BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management, and all its applications classes and parameters are displayed in BMC ProactiveNet.
You can use the BMC PATROL adapter to integrate Knowledge Modules (KMs) with BMC ProactiveNet. BMC PATROL Agents load information from KMs, gather statistics, and send data and events to the BMC ProactiveNet Agent. The BMC ProactiveNet Agent then generates events when it senses a problem evolving in the monitored infrastructure. The BMC PATROL adapter facilitates the retrieval of performance data from the application classes of BMC PATROL solutions into BMC ProactiveNet.
You can add an adapter for BMC PATROL by using either of the following methods:
- Automated workflow (recommended)
- Manually
