Setting Java settings

Warning

If you are integrating BMC PATROL Knowledge Module for End User Experience Management with BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management, do not perform this configuration task through a PATROL console. Set the Java heap memory size through the BMC ProactiveNet Central Monitoring Administration console. Setting the Java home directory is not necessary. For more information, see the BMC ProactiveNet End User Experience Management Monitoring online documentation.

  1. From the PATROL Console work area, right-click the End User Experience icon.
  2. Choose KM Commands > Set Java Settings.
  3. In the Set Java Settings dialog box, enter the following values:
    • Path to the Java home directory (for example, C:/Program Files/Java/jre1.6.0_13)
    • Initial size of Java heap memory, in megabytes. The default is 64 MB.
    • Maximum size of Java heap memory, in megabytes. The default is 128 MB.
  4. Click OK.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
