Configuring the BMC PATROL Knowledge Module to monitor AR Servers
The BMC PATROL Knowledge Module can be configured to monitor both remote and local AR servers. Perform the following steps to configure the BMC PATROL Knowledge Module:
- Start the PATROL Console.
- Right-click the Remedy AR Systems.
- Select KM Commands and click Register AR System.
The Register AR System For Monitoring dialog box is displayed. - Enter details for the AR Server that you want to monitor:
- IP/Host: Type the IP address or AR Server name.
- Port: Type the port number for the connection.
- User Name: Type the user name for authentication on the server.
- Password: Type the password for authentication on the server.
- Authentication: Type the authentication token.
Configuring AR Servers for monitoring
The following AR Server setups can be configured for monitoring:
- Stand-alone Server: Enter the details for the server in the Register AR System For Monitoring dialog box to configure the server.
- Grouped Servers: A single server configured as a point of contact, can be used to monitor a group of servers. Applications and forms for the entire group and not per single server are grouped in a container for monitoring. If a Mid-Tier Load Balancing server exists, its availability is also monitored.
