Downloading Installation Utility

BMC Installation Utility is packaged with the BMC Performance Manager for Servers 3.4.00 solution and BMC Performance Manager Portal solution.

The solution is available for download from the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) website at http://webapps.bmc.com/epd. To use the website, you must register and set up a user name and password.

To download the files

  1. Create a temporary directory in which to put the downloaded files.

    Warning

    Note

Before downloading BMC Installation Utility, ensure that the directory is only one level below the directory structure on Windows computers. The EPD package creates a directory in the temporary directory when you extract the files, and the directory that contains the installation image should not be in a directory deeper than two levels into the directory structure.

  2. Download the following files depending on the platform on which you intend to use it:

    Note

You can extract the installation utility files first and then any product files. By doing this, the bmc_products directory is created and the files are extracted to this directory.

  4. Before installing the product component, use the Release notes and notices section of each product to review the installation requirements and prerequisites.
