Creating user-defined variables

You can define variables for your own specialized requirements. If you define your own variables, they must be of the form "/path/variable_name"=value. If the specific path does not exist, it is created and the variable set equal to value.

User-defined variables are stored by the PATROL Agent until their values are requested by KM applications, parameters, or SNMP requests. User-defined variables can be completely unrelated to how the PATROL Agent functions. For example, you could specify values for variables such as numerical constants for calculations, lists of names or ID codes, part numbers, and so forth.
