Take action on monitors from the Device Details page

Use the Device Details page to take actions on the monitors configured on the PATROL Agent. With this enhancement, you can take actions on the monitors without logging in to the PATROL Agent.

Support for the ExternalElement node kind

The AssociateEventToNode function supports the ExternalElement node kind. This enhancement improves user experience by reducing the manual configurations required to map events to external nodes across tenants.

(Controlled availability customers only) Add input variables while triggering an automation

If BMC Helix Operations Management is integrated with BMC Helix Intelligent Automation, you can provide input variables to an automation policy when you trigger automation for an event. With this feature, you can update the input variables without navigating to BMC Helix Intelligent Automation.

For more information, see Performing event operations.

(Controlled availability customers only) Dynamic enrichment policies rerun automatically after an event update

When an event is updated, BMC Helix Operations Management runs the dynamic enrichment policy again to check if any event rows match with the updated value. With this enhancement, you no longer have to configure dynamic enrichment policies to run again after an event is updated.

For information about dynamic event enrichment actions, see Dynamic event enrichment actions.

(Controlled availability customers only) Improved execution of policy precedence

If you configure two or more alarm policies with the same metric for the same alarm severity, the conflict is resolved with the help of policy precedence. The threshold to determine which policy gets precedence is considered across the policies that contain the same severity. This feature helps generate more accurate alarms while reducing event noise.

For more information, see  Alarm policies.

Additional baselines to generate alarms

Configure alarm policies to generate alarms when one of the following conditions occur:

  • Any baseline is violated
  • Only the high baseline is violated
  • Only the low baseline violated

With this enhancement, you can obtain excellent control and granularity on the conditions for generating alarms.

For more information, see  Configuring alarm policies.

Optimize event generation with the Within operator

While creating groups, use the Within operator in the entity selection criteria to restrict event generation to specific devices. With this enhancement, you can simplify the selection criteria to use for events and improve the response time for event generation.

For more information, see Setting up groups.

View the automation history in BMC Helix Intelligent Automation

After triggering an automation for an event, you can click Refresh to get the latest status of the automation. The View History cross-launch link is displayed with the status. If you have permissions to access BMC Helix Intelligent Automation, use the link to seamlessly navigate and view the automation history. With this enhancement, you can quickly assess automation results, identify issues, and make informed decisions.
