License update


To update your BMC Helix Network Management license follow the steps below.

(This document covers BMC Helix Network Management virtual appliances deployed in a customer environment. It is not for updating a BMC Helix Network Management SaaS license.)

  1. Log in to your BMC Helix Network Management deployment as a user with the SuperAdmin access level.
  2. From the main menu select Administration > System > License to navigate to the BMC Helix Network Management License Information page.
  3. Locate the panel displaying your current license information.
  4. Select Update or Request License.
  5. Update the license information as necessary.
  6. If the BMC Helix Network Management appliance is not connected to the Internet skip to step 7.
    1. If the BMC Helix Network Management appliance is connected to the Internet, select Auto License.
    2. BMC Helix Network Management automatically downloads and installs the proper license for you.
    3. You are finished.
  7. If the BMC Helix Network Management appliance is not connected to the Internet, select Manual License.
    1. BMC Helix Network Management generates and displays a unique seed value.
    2. Use the link provided to open an online form where you can copy/paste the provided seed to retrieve your product and VPN keys (this can be done from any computer with internet access).
    3. Copy/paste the keys into the appropriate fields in BMC Helix Network Management.
    4. Select Submit to activate your new license.
    5. You are finished.
