Rules management

Rules are essential components for event generation and are particularly suited for handling enriched data streams. These rules serve as logical constructs that dictate specific actions or outcomes based on predefined conditions within a data stream. The generation of events is contingent upon the configuration of actions to initiate the event. Workflow activation through rules requires an explicit definition in Node-RED, a third-party entity. You can set up rules to monitor the device data, such as metrics, environmental conditions, or system performance.  

Rules serve the purpose of detecting or recognizing items of significance, such as high temperatures, in the real-time streaming data collected at the BMC Helix Edge. After these significant items are identified, rules define the subsequent actions.

The streaming data in BMC Helix Edge, on which rules are applied, encompasses contextual information about the device, including details such as car model, year of manufacture, and car driver's name. This additional information helps create robust and versatile rules.
