Creating dashboards and visualizing data

You can leverage BMC Helix Dashboards to observe data from BMC Helix Edge and create interactive BMC Helix Edge dashboards. With BMC Helix Dashboards, you can generate unified reports and consolidate data views.

  1. On the BMC Helix Edge page, select Dashboard > Dashboard Builder.
  2. On the top-right corner of the BMC Helix Dashboards home page, select New > New Panel.
  3. In the New Panel pane, select Add > Visualization.
  4. In the Query section, use the following steps:
    1. From the Data source list, make sure that the data source is set to BMC Helix (Default) for your dashboard.
    2. (Optional) Use Query Inspector to inspect and verify your query.
    3. Select an appropriate query type from the Query type list, for example, Metric.
    4. From the Source list, select an appropriate source, for example, Monitor.
    5. From the Metrics browser list, select the metrics to view.
      You can select combinations of metrics from BMC Helix Edge for comparison. 
    6. Repeat Step 4(a) through 4(e) to add multiple queries to the panel.
  5. Click Use Query.
    The dashboard displays the selected metrics graphically.
  6. In the Save Dashboard panel, enter a name in the Dashboard name field.
  7. Click Save.
