Downloading the installation files

Download the product installation files from the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) website. You can access product pages on the EPD website based on the license entitlements purchased by your company.

This video demonstrates how to use the BMC Electronic Product Download site to download software purchased from BMC.

Download the following installation artifacts from EPD image-2023-9-4_19-46-55.png:

  • Artifacts for BMC Helix Edge installation.
  • Deployment manager for BMC Helix Edge installation.
  • Images hosted on BMC Docker Trusted Registry (DTR) containers.bmc.comimage-2024-2-23_15-9-7.png (accessed using the BMC Helix Container Access Key).
To use container images, you must establish their Docker repository and retrieve the container image from containers.bmc.comimage-2024-2-23_15-9-7.png by using the token. You must then re-tag these images and upload them into their local repository.

To download the files

The installer files you download from the BMC Software Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) website image-2024-2-23_15-9-7.pngmight contain some or all patches listed on a product's BMC Support web page. If the EPD page shows that a patch is included in a file you downloaded, you do not need to get the patch separately.

  1. Create a directory where you want to download files.

    Important

Download and save the file in the directory at /opt/bmc/. The Ansible playbook references this location, so extracting the files elsewhere might lead to deployment failures.

  2. Enter your user ID and password at the login prompt, and click Sign In.
  3. On the Export Compliance and Access Terms page, provide the required information, agree to the terms of the agreements, and click Continue.
  4. On the Product or Patches tab, select the files to download.
  5. Click Download (FTP).
  6. The system places the selected items in an FTP directory and sends the credentials and FTP instructions to you in an email message.

    Tip

You can also click Download and save the file on the prompt.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
