Configuring tenants for BMC Application Diagnostics
For each BMC Application Diagnostics tenant organization, you associate a BMC Application Diagnostics Portal where the tenant's data is stored. Each tenant organization is configured to one, and only one, Portal.
Before you begin
- Install the BMC Application Diagnostics Server components for each tenant organization: one BMC Application Diagnostics Portal for each tenant, and at least one BMC Application Diagnostics Collector for each Portal.
- Create tenants and tenant users.
To configure tenants for BMC Application Diagnostics
To perform this procedure, you must have Administrator-level access, or higher.
- On the BMC Application Performance Management Console, click the System Access tab.
- From the menus, select Diagnostic Management > Tenant Configuration.
- Perform one of the following actions:
- To add a new tenant configuration for BMC Application Diagnostics, from the Action menu, select Add Portal Tenant Association.
- To edit a previously defined tenant, from the shortcut menu of the specific tenant, select Edit.
- For new tenant configuration: Select a tenant name from the list.
Note the following:- Only defined tenants (defined through the Tenant Management page) are listed.
- If a tenant is already associated to a Portal, then the tenant does not appear in the list.
- If a Real User Analyzer is associated with the tenant, the Analyzer host name or IP address is displayed (read-only).
- In the Portal Configuration panel, configure the following settings:
- Select the communication protocol with the BMC Application Diagnostics Portal: HTTP or HTTPS.
The protocol must match the configuration of the Portal. - Enter the host name or IP address of the Portal.
- Enter the Portal listening port. The default port is 8100 for HTTP, and 8143 for HTTPS.
- Select the communication protocol with the BMC Application Diagnostics Portal: HTTP or HTTPS.
- Click Save.
If the tenant configuration connects to the Portal, the status is displayed as OK on the Tenant Configuration page.
If the tenant cannot connect to the Portal, the status is displayed as ERROR. You can edit the configuration to change the settings.
To disassociate a Portal from a tenant
Each tenant organization is associated to one, and only one, Portal. If you want to change the tenant that is associated to a Portal, you must first disassociate the current configuration. To perform this procedure, you must have Administrator-level access, or higher.
- On the BMC Application Performance Management Console, click the System Access tab.
- From the menus, select Diagnostic Management > Tenant Configuration.
- From the shortcut menu of the specific tenant, select Disassociate.
- To confirm that you want to delete the configuration, click OK.
