Configuring technology appearance
You can customize the name and color of application technologies, such as for database and messaging systems, in the application flow diagram and charts. You can also remove a technology from the diagram.
To appear in the console, every technology must have corresponding rules in the Recording Configuration.
To modify the appearance of a technology
- In the BMC Application Performance Management Console, from the Diagnostics tab, select Administration > Technology Configuration.
- On the Technology Configuration page, from the arrow in the upper right corner of the pane, select Edit.
Configure the appearance of the technology using the following syntax:
<ID>=<tierName>;rgb(<rrr>,<ggg>,<bbb>)The following list describes each parameter:
- <ID> --- the internal reference to the technology . Do not change this value for technologies that are already in use.
- <tierName> --- the display name of the technology (referred to as a tier) in application flow diagrams and charts
- <rrr>,<ggg>,<bbb> --- the RGB color values of the technology in graphs and charts
- Click Save.
To remove a technology from the diagrams
To remove a technology from the application flow diagram and charts, perform one of the following procedures:
- Comment out the technology by adding a # character and a space at the beginning of the line.
- Remove the line from the file.
