Creating and editing an Agent policy file


To create a new policy file, you can save a copy of an Agent Policy and modify it. You can then apply the new policy to BMC Application Diagnostics Agents.

To create and edit a new policy files by copying an existing file

  1. From the Diagnostics tab, select Administration > Agent Policies.
  2. In the Name column, click the name of a policy file.
  3. On the View Agent Policy File window, from the shortcut menu at the upper-right corner of the pane, select Save As.

    Note

    Menu options differ depending on whether the policy is a built-in policy, a default policy, or a new policy. You cannot edit or delete a built-in policy, and you cannot delete a default policy. You can edit and delete all other policy files.

  4. On the Create New Agent Policy File window, change the policy name.
  5. (Optional) Add a description.
  6. Modify the policy according to your requirements.
  7. Click Save.
