Configuring tier appearance
You can customize the name and color of application tiers, such as for database and messaging systems, in the application flow diagram and charts. You can also remove a tier from the diagram.
To appear in the console, every tier must have corresponding rules in Recording Configuration.
To modify the appearance of a tier
- In the BMC Application Performance Management Console, from the Diagnostics tab, select Administration > Tier Configuration.
- On the Tier Configuration page, from the arrow in the upper right corner of the pane, select Edit.
Configure the appearance of the tier using the following syntax:
<ID>=<tierName>;rgb(<rrr>,<ggg>,<bbb>)The following list describes each parameter:
- <ID> --- the internal reference to the tier. Do not change this value for tiers that are already in use.
- <tierName> --- the display name of the tier in application flow diagrams and charts
- <rrr>,<ggg>,<bbb> --- the RGB color values of the tier in graphs and charts
- Click Save.
