This section provides detailed information for administrators about managing BMC Application Diagnostics components and settings to ensure that diagnostics data is available and persisted correctly.

BMC Application Diagnostics includes the following configuration components:

  • Policy files contain the configuration parameters for agents and collectors.
  • Recording files contain instrumental rules defining what must be recorded and passed to agents.
  • Entry point files contain the rules defining the entry point names.
  • Tier configuration contains the parameters defining the appearance of tiers in application flow diagrams and charts.
