Verifying BMC Application Diagnostics Server installation
You can verify that the BMC Application Diagnostics Server installation was successful by reviewing the log files created during the BMC Application Diagnostics Server installation, and Server processes/services.
- Access the adopserver_install_log.txt file which is located in the %temp% directory (for Windows) and /tmp folder (for Linux).
- Check to see whether there are any warnings or errors. If there are no error messages, the installation was successful.
- Verify that the BMC Application Diagnostics Collector and BMC Application Diagnostics Portal are running:
- On Windows:
Run services.msc and verify that BMC Application Diagnostics Collector and BMC Application Diagnostics Portal services are running. On Linux:
Run the following commands to verify that the processes are running:ps –ea|grep adop_collector
ps –ea|grep adop_portal
- On Windows:
- Verify that there are no errors reported in the BMC Application Diagnostics Collector log files located at:
- For Windows: <ServerInstallationDirectory>\collector\logs\collector.log
- For Linux: <ServerInstallationDirectory>/collector/logs/collector.log
- Verify that there are no errors reported in the BMC Application Diagnostics Portal log files located at:
- For Windows: <ServerInstallationDirectory>\portal\logs\portal.log
- For Linux: <ServerInstallationDirectory>/portal/logs/portal.log
